In celebration of spring and National Kids to Parks Day, Newark Parks and Recreation is encouraging residents to take this exciting opportunity to go ‘hunting’ in Newark’s parks and trails and discover what is out there for you to enjoy. We want to empower kids and encourage families to lead a more active lifestyle and broaden their appreciation for nature and the outdoors by highlighting some of the treasures right here in your backyard. Between now and Saturday, May 17 (National Kids to Parks Day) try to accomplish as many of the tasks listed below as you can. Grab your camera, smart phone, family and friends and visit the parks to complete the list. Take your best shot!
To enter, email your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can use any smart phone or computer with internet. No special app or hashtag needed. All entries will be entered into a raffle to win prizes and the top 3 individuals or families who accomplish the most tasks will be entered in a separate drawing for a gift certificate for Newark Parks & Recreation programs. A gift certificate will also be awarded for most creative photo.
