Come be a Memory Star Maker!
The Memory Star Project hopes to collect 13,000 stars from classrooms, families and community members across the country; one star for each prisoner's life that ended too soon during the Civil War. 13,000 stars illustrate the physical scope of prison fatalities but also the infinite number of dreams, loves and unrealized futures that each person possessed.
A Memory Star work station will be set up in the National Prisoner of War Museum, for kids to decorate stars to add to the collection.
Kids and families are also invited to earn their Junior Ranger badges with the new adventure book "Captured! A Prisoner of War Story."
Come be a part of the Civil War 150th anniversary at Andersonville National Historic Site.
