With so much technology in the world today, people often forget about the good, old outdoors. State parks provide many opportunities for people to enjoy nature. So, turn off the video games and come out to Kids to Parks Day and enjoy some family fun outdoors!
Start off your day with a fun, informational hayride that will depart from the Visitor's Center at 10 a.m. It will navigate through the park to the abandoned campground where you can observe the various animals that now live there. The hayride will bring you back to the Visitor's Center where you can learn "The Occaneechi Story" as you tour the museum full of interesting artifacts.
You can also check out a FREE park pack to use on one of the park's many trails. The pack provides many guide books that can be used to help you and your child identify birds, insects, animal tracks, and more!
Don't worry if you miss the morning hayride because a second one will take place at 1:00 p.m.
Occoneechee State Park is a great place to get your kids connected to nature. So step away from the busy schedules and stressful days and show your kids how great a state park can be!
All Kids to Parks Day events are free!
