The frenzy of spring migration is upon us and the park is filled with winged wonders, providing a great opportunity to learn the basics of bird watching. All you need is a sense of enthusiasm and the naturalist will supply the rest (binoculars, field guides, etc.). After sharing tips for binocular use and bird identification, we'll take a 1.5 mile adventure hike looking and listening for bird life. Once you spot your first brightly colored warbler, you?ll be hooked. Meet at the park office at the south end (campground entrance) of the park and wear comfortable hiking shoes. This program is free, but a Minnesota State park vehicle permit is required of any vehicle entering the park. This permit can be purchased at the park entrance office for $5/day or $25/year.
