    For the past three decades, NPT has supported and assisted in acquiring inholdings and in developing public and private partnerships to promote the acquisition and protection of parks, wildlife refuges, historic landmarks, public lands, and waterways.

    		  

    Kids to Parks

    The future of our nation's treasured parks, public lands and other open spaces rests in the hands of our youth. Through NPT's widely respected and rapidly growing kids to parks initiatives and Buddy Bison youth education program, everyone will be provided with the American Park experience they deserve.

  • The 2013 Bruce F. Vento Public Service Award Event: June 5 2013 (6:30-8:30pm) at the Newseum in Washington, DC

    NPT established the Vento Award in 2000 to honor the memory and legacy of Bruce F. Vento, a twelve-term Congressman from Minnesota, dedicated environmentalist and a champion of legislation for America’s parks. The Award honors a public servant for his or her commitment to the environment, and his service, skill and innovation in support of our public lands. Recent recipients include Senator Mike Simpson, Senator Susan Collins, Senator Mark Udall, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Senator Harry Reid, Congressman George Miller and Senator John McCain. All proceeds from the event directly benefit NPT’s park preservation and youth education initiatives.
