Calling all junior anglers! Come show your skills and maybe even win a prize. Don't know how to fish? No worries! We'll also be teaching basic skills. There will be a limited number of fishing poles, hooks, and bobbers for loan so bring your own if possible. A small bucket will also come in handy to carry your fish to the weigh station. Schedule: 8:15-9am Register 9-9:30am Safety briefing 9:30-12pm Fishing 12:30-1pm (approximate) Awards and prizes No boats/kayaks/canoes are permitted to be used. Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation are expected from every contestant and parent. Children MUST be present at the awards to win. This event is organized by the Friends of Abilene State Park.

Cost: Please pay entrance fees at the office, then register at Lake Abilene. There are 2 age groups: 3-7 and 8-13. Prizes will be awarded to the top anglers in each age group.
