Auburn Valley State Park 3000 Creek Rd Hockessin, Delaware

"If you have young people in your family who have always wanted to learn how to fish but haven't had the gear to make it happen, this is a perfect opportunity. Auburn Valley State Park will be offering a limited-size fishing workshop for children and teens at the Oversee Farm Trail where we will fish for Largemouth bass in Oversee Pond. The one and a half hour program includes a lesson in safety and casting, followed by 45 minutes of supervised fishing and an interactive lesson on the fish in Delaware's ecosystem. Through the catch-and-release fishing activity, children will learn how conservation practices and recreational activities play a vital part in protecting Delaware's aquatic ecosystem. Fishing rods and tackle are provided, but families may bring their own. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The activity is meant for children, but parents and guardians are encouraged to watch and participate to help make fishing a family activity! Anyone over the age of 16 who wants to fish with their child or sibling must have a Delaware non-tidal fishing license. Online registration ends 36 hours prior to the program. After that, please call 302-729-4280. $10 per child"
