May 20, 2023. 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Spend National Kids to Park Day at Natural Tunnel State Park as we celebrate our outdoor resources with a morning session (9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) and afternoon session (1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.) of ranger led water activities and outdoor 101 workshops. Water programs include Critter Crawl where we’ll search the creek for creatures that call Stock Creek home, and Fishing FUNdamentals where you’ll learn basics on fishing equipment, techniques, and safety. Valid Virginia fishing licenses required for anyone above 16 years of age. For water activities, all equipment will be provided. Wear closed-toe shoes. Meet at Stock Creek Recreational Area. Outdoor 101 activities include a series of Survival of The Tunnel workshops where you will put your skills to the test as we build shelters, use basic tools to build fires, and make ropes out of plant fibers.
