Kids to Parks Day : Junior Ranger at Highlands Hammock State Park

Celebrate Kids To Parks Day and join thousands of young people across the country in supporting the preservation of parks and the stewardship of conservation lands. Ranger Laura McMullen will introduce the Junior Ranger Program and guide children and parents through a booklet presenting a series of core areas, including recreation, natural resources, cultural resources and service. Children also will learn about outdoor safety and the duties of a park ranger. After the program introduction, children can work on an activity. Children who complete the program will receive the booklet and other Junior Ranger items. Program is recommended for ages seven to 12 years. Children under seven will need assistance from a parent and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Participants must arrive at the beginning of the program Young people and their families are invited to explore park trails and the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum after the presentation.

Cost: Park entry fee of $6 per vehicle (up to eight people).
