Lake Whitney State Park 433 FM 1244 Whitney, Texas

Enjoy an evening walk across the galaxy by using star maps, a laser pointer and telescope. Retired National Park Ranger Larry Smith will guide you through the planets, moon and stars. Plan about 2 hours for this program that will start at 8 p.m. Please register your group by calling the park office during business hours at (254) 694-3973 or email Rita.eisenschenk@tpwd.texas.gov providing the number of adults and children attending and a phone number to contact if needed. Bring your own camp chairs if you would like or you may use the metal picnic tables spaced out in the area. Binoculars if you have them and a flash light with a red beam works best for the dark sky. This event will be held across from our Group Rec Hall. Follow the signs for parking and solar lights to the picnic tables.
