How the Competition Works
Registration
Schools that would like to participate in this challenge must notify Annaliese Wan by October 7th. The Green and Clean Campus challenge runs from October 1st, 2025 to December 31st, 2025. Schools may host as many clean-ups as they wish during this timeframe.
Trash Clean Up & Tracking
Trash must be collected during officially organized clean-up events. After each event, Ambassadors will submit results through the official Trash Tracking Form.
At each event, ambassadors will:
- Count and weigh the total amount of trash collected. Photo evidence must also be provided
- Record the number of participants
- Take photos and/or short videos documenting the event
Scoring System
Results will be calculated on a per capita basis to keep things fair: Total Trash Collected ÷ Number of Participants = Score. Leaderboards will be updated bi-weekly and shared on social media.
Proof of Participation
At least two photos must be submitted per event:
- Group photo of participants with collected trash
- Action shot (picking up trash, weighing bags, etc.)

Bonus Points
At the end of each bi-week, when leaderboards are updated, three extra individual points will be awarded to schools based on their performance within the bi-week period:
- 1 point for the most trash bags collected overall
- 1 point for the heaviest total trash weight
- 1 point for the highest number of participants
Winners and Prizes
Winning schools receive a variety of outdoor gear from leading outdoor brands, along with Brew Dr. Kombucha swag and special recognition from the National Park Trust.
Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place schools!
