Casting Connections: Fishing Outing Hooks Students on Outdoor Fun
On November 9th, OutSideTheLu at Langston University hosted its first-ever fishing outing, made possible by National Park Trust. Over 10 students gathered at Langston Lake for a day of fishing and connecting with nature.
Students bonded over the shared experience of fishing, with some landing their first catches. The activity offered a perfect mix of relaxation and engagement, helping participants unwind in the serene outdoor setting.
Participants also learned how to spool and rig a fishing rod, gaining practical skills and confidence for future outdoor adventures.
It was wonderful to see so many students come together and try something new! We hope this experience has inspired them for future fishing trips and visits to our local lake. This event marked the beginning of more opportunities to connect with the outdoors and each other at Langston University.
