Smith Mountain Lake State Park 1235 State Park Rd Huddleston, Virginia

Bark in the Park is coming to Smith Mountain Lake State Park for a tail-wagging day of fun, education, and community spirit! Enjoy exciting K9 demonstrations from the Bedford County Sheriff's Office and learn about the important work their highly trained dogs perform. Guests can also attend an educational program highlighting the wild canines of Virginia and discover the role these fascinating animals play in our natural environment. Additional activities throughout the day will make this a fun event for the whole family. Friends of the Bedford County Animal Shelter will be on site with adoptable dogs looking for loving homes. Donations are welcome and appreciated — monetary contributions, pet food, or new dog toys will help support shelter animals in need. Event Guidelines: Dogs must be on a leash at all times and have up-to-date vaccinations. For everyone’s safety, please do not bring dogs that are aggressive toward people or other dogs. Owners of aggressive dogs may be asked to leave. Come out and enjoy a day filled with happy tails, community connection, and support for our four-legged friends!
