Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site 7850 N. Highway V Ash Grove, Missouri

Come visit the Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead on Saturday, May 16, as we celebrate Kids to Parks Day. Activities will begin at 1 p.m. with storytelling by Bob Daniels. Bob has the ability to transport his audience to times and places where stories were passed down by families through generations. This event will also feature old-time activities such as corn shelling and rope making. All of these activities will take place outside around the Boone home. While at the historic site, visitors can also explore the site's 4 miles of hiking trails, enjoy a picnic lunch at the shelter, or fish in the pond. The Kids to Parks Day activities are free and open to the public. A valid fishing permit is required for most anglers older than 15 and younger than 65. See Page 4 of the Missouri Department of Conservation's 2026 fishing regulations booklet for more information.
