Deam Lake State Recreation Area 1217 Deam Lake Road Borden, Indiana

Participants will hike a short (.25 mile) hike behind the Forest Education Center, stopping at numbers along the way to observe the trees, possible wildlife, lake shore and seasonal stream. After the hike, all materials will be provided to make a "remembrance map", a poem, or a movie of what was observed. The maps or poems can be entered into our Tadpole Trail display or the participant can take them home. The goal of this activity is to experience nature with friends and family, stopping to enjoy and learn about the Indiana forest biome, the local park, and the outdoors in general. Guided hikes with the Naturalist will take place at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, however materials will be provided all day to those who would like to participate on their own.
