October 9th-11th, 2026 New River Gorge Whitewater Rafting and Camping Overnight Trip

National Park Trust invites military service personnel, veterans, and their families to sign up for our October 9th- 11th New River Gorge National Park Whitewater Rafting and Camping Overnight Trip!

Applying for this event does not guarantee a spot; participants and groups that have been accepted or put on a waitlist will be notified by email by September 18th, 2026!

Who: National Park Trust, ACE Adventures
Age Requirement: 15 years and older
What: Join us for an unforgettable overnight adventure in New River Gorge National Park, where you’ll experience the thrill of whitewater rafting and riverside camping on the Gauley River. Your adventure begins Friday at the New River Gorge Visitor Center with an interpretive program from park rangers, an evening with cabin accommodations, a complimentary dinner, and an opportunity to connect with fellow military families from the DMV area before the adventure begins. On Saturday, we’ll launch into the upper section of the Gauley River, navigating class III–V rapids. After a day on the water, we’ll enjoy dinner along the river and settle in for a night of tent camping. Sunday morning starts with breakfast before we take on the lower section of the Gauley River, continuing the adventure through more exciting rapids and landscapes. We look forward to sharing this incredible outdoor experience and creating lasting memories with you and your family!
When: Friday, October 9th, 2026, at 3:30 PM to Sunday, October 11th, at 2:00 PM (or whenever rafting concludes)

All participants will be required to attend a pre-trip meeting scheduled for October 2nd at 10:00 AM EST

National Park Trust will provide all meals throughout the trip as well as a gas reimbursement card. Please make sure to share any dietary restrictions you and/or your party may have in the registration form.
