In October 2025, National Park Trust and Warren Air Force Base partnered to bring service members and veterans to Glacier National Park for an overnight camping weekend.

Airmen and veterans spent the weekend hiking, paddling, and sightseeing on the Going-to-the-Sun road on its last few days open before the winter season. On Friday, the group hiked the Hidden Lake Trail on the Continental Divide, spotting mountain goats and bighorn sheep along the way, before returning to Lake Macdonald for an afternoon spent kayaking on the pristine glacial meltwater.

On Saturday, the group departed early for a 10-mile hike along Piegan Pass, spotting over a dozen glaciers along the route before encountering the first snowstorm of the season on the way back over the mountain passes. It was an amazing weekend spent making new friends and experiencing incredible natural beauty.

This trip was made possible through NPS and USAA funding and was the ninth trip in 2025 in partnership with the Air Force Office of Outdoor Recreation.
