Langston University Student Ambassadors Take On Chickasaw National Reserve
On April 11th, 2025, OUTSIDETHELU traveled to the Chickasaw National Reserve in Sulphur, Oklahoma! Taking part in their many attractions, such as little Niagara and climbing Bromide Hill. We enjoyed engaging with students from all walks of life while also conducting a service project on one of their frequently visited hiking trails! We were able to get 17 participants to join us on this amazing experience! Little Niagara offers various opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with its vast number of hiking trails, rivers and streams to swim in, and plenty of spaces to sit and take in the endless sunshine!

Overall, this was a very well-received and enjoyable event, not only for us as ambassadors but for the student body! The number one question we got was, “When’s the next one?” We absolutely loved this and plan to bring it back every year! The team at the reserve truly embraced our club by getting us buckets, service jackets, free T-shirts, and grabbers to help with the trail clean-up. That, along with seeing all classifications engaged with one another, was a very refreshing thing to be a part of. I believe due to this event, the club will skyrocket in numbers and have even larger events!
