Missouri River Fish & Float
What an incredible day on the river! We started our adventure early in the morning, gathering at the Dam access on the Missouri River. With four boats in tow, we were all eager to get started. The weather was perfect for a morning float—calm and crisp, with the river looking absolutely stunning. As we hit the water, the fishing was on fire, and before we knew it, everyone was reeling in fish.
We spent the morning cruising along the river, chatting, and sharing stories while munching on snacks. There’s something special about being out on the water, surrounded by the beautiful Montana mountains—it’s just the perfect backdrop for a peaceful day of fishing. It’s also always a blast watching students who’ve never fished before catch their first fish—it never gets old!
Around midday, the weather shifted, and we found ourselves hitting a rough patch. The wind picked up, and the waves got a little wild, but that’s all part of the adventure! It was a great opportunity to practice some boat handling skills and work together as a group. Plus, who doesn’t love the thrill of some choppy water?

As the day went on, the weather calmed down again, and we found ourselves fishing into the evening. The best part was a couple of quiet hours before the sun set, where the sky painted itself in shades of orange and pink. The river was so peaceful, and the sunset was one of those moments where you just stop and appreciate the beauty of the world around you. We caught a few more fish, but it was the scenery that made the day feel extra special.
We spent the day teaching each other new tips and tricks—whether it was how to tie on a fly, how to perfect your cast, or how to properly reel in a fish. It’s always a joy to be out on the water with friends and students, teaching them the ropes and getting them hooked on the sport. There’s something so rewarding about seeing someone catch their first fish, especially when they’ve learned how to do it themselves.
All in all, it was such a wonderful day spent on the river, full of good company, great fishing, and even better memories. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
