Rangers, Passes, and Peaks: Colorado with Buckley Space Force Base

In September 2025, National Park Trust partnered with Buckley Space Force Base for an outdoor adventure in Colorado. The group began with a ranger-led program and guided hike at Curecanti National Recreation Area, where participants received annual military park passes and learned more about the landscapes around them.

From there, they continued on to the Maroon Bells–Snowmass Wilderness for an overnight backpacking trip. With time on the trail and under the stars, the trip provided an opportunity to explore, connect with nature, and build community in some of Colorado’s most stunning public lands.
