Snow Valley Ski Adventure: A Day to Remember
On January 14, 2025, we embarked on an incredible outing to Snow Valley Ski Resort, located just a 45-minute drive from CSUSB. This outdoor recreation trip brought together 10 Participants for a day filled with excitement, learning, and winter fun.
Our day began early, with leaders arriving at 6:30 AM to prepare all the necessary gear and load up the van. By 7:00 AM, participants arrived at the rec center, eagerly suiting up with snow pants and filling their water bottles before we set off. The drive to the resort was filled with anticipation, and by 8:15 AM, we were ready to hit the slopes.
At Snow Valley, participants had the choice to take lessons on the beginner slopes or explore the resort’s diverse trails, ranging from easy bunny hills to intermediate runs like Coyote Flats. It was thrilling to see the mix of beginners gaining confidence on their boards and more experienced skiers tackling challenging slopes.
A stand-out moment was during lunch when everyone gathered to share their progress and excitement. The energy and camaraderie were infectious. The reminder to stay hydrated and take breaks paid off, as everyone made the most of their time on the mountain.
Participants expressed their gratitude for this outing, many sharing that it was their first time skiing or snowboarding. Watching them overcome initial nervousness and embrace the adventure was incredibly rewarding.
As we wrapped up the day and headed back to campus by 5:00 PM, it was clear this trip had made a lasting impact. It brought people together, built confidence, and provided a refreshing escape into the snow-capped mountains.
