On November 14, 2024, LU Outside hosted its first-ever study session under the stars on Sanford Lawn! This special event focused on stewardship and community engagement, was filled with laughter, and shared semester stories while enjoying the satisfaction of tackling final assignments together. Under the glowing Langston stars, students experienced a night of fellowship, reflection, and productivity.

The event caught the attention of eight spirited students, ranging from freshmen to seniors, all eager to connect with their outdoor environment and close the semester in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Participants brought study materials, blankets, snacks, and laptops, creating a cozy scene despite the chilly night. At one point, we paused to lay on our backs, soaking in the stars and nature’s sounds – a moment of peace and recharge before diving back into assignments. To support everyone, I brought extra blankets and snacks, which were especially appreciated by the freshmen, who felt more at ease meeting upperclassmen in the small group.

This event helped us prepare for finals and fostered new connections and perspectives across class years. LU Outside ambassadors used this opportunity to promote upcoming events and strengthen the organization’s mission. Overall, this incredible night marked the beginning of a tradition for LU Outside!
