Bring the whole family out for a full day of outdoor fun at the Kids Love Parks Fair! Explore, create, and discover the adventures waiting for you at James River State Park. Throughout the day, kids (and kids at heart!) can jump into a variety of hands-on activities, including guided nature hikes, beginner-friendly archery, and fire-building demonstrations that teach essential outdoor skills. Prefer to explore at your own pace? Pick up one of our self-guided activity sheets and set out on a park adventure of your own. Let creativity take the lead with arts and crafts stations where young explorers can make nature-inspired creations to take home. Whether you're learning something new or enjoying your favorite outdoor pastime, there’s something for every curious kid. Come celebrate the joy of nature and discover why Kids Love Parks! Schedule: Fishing FUNdamentals (Registration Required), 10 - 11 a.m. Fire Building, 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Archery 101 (Registration Required), 1:30 - 3 p.m. Self-guided Activities (available all day): Photo Scavenger Hunt, Geocaching, Junior Ranger Booklet, Adventure Packs, Creation Station Please meet at Canoe Landing. All materials provided. Suitable for all ages. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and bring a water bottle with you.
