Turkey Creek Sanctuary 1518 Port Malabar Blvd NE Palm Bay, FL
Celebrate Kids to Parks Day with your Palm Bay Recreation Department. Celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May, Kids to Parks Day encourages kids and families to get outside and create their own adventure in our local parks. We have a full day of activities planned at several different locations throughout the city.
For Ages 4 - 17 (parents may accompany young children). Participants should meet at the sanctuary Nature center no later than 9 AM. The hike will take place on the boardwalk and various trails located throughout the sanctuary. Hike will be lead by a Park Ranger and will focus on common plants and animals found in the sanctuary. Total distance for the hike is approximately 1 to 1.5 miles and should take 60-75 minutes to complete. The terrain is mostly sandy on primitive trails with a few wet spots, so please dress accordingly and be prepared for a hike of light to moderate intensity. Sturdy tennis shoes or boots are recommended. It is also recommended to wear sunscreen and insect repellent. You may also want to bring plenty of water, a snack, binoculars, and a hat. Space is limited. Reserve your space by calling (321) 676-6690.
