Thank you for your interest in the #MyParkOurFuture campaign – an initiative that highlights the importance of public parks, lands, and waters in our daily lives and why our future depends on them.
We are encouraging Kids to Parks Day partners nationwide to join us and participate in this social media campaign. The campaign runs from Earth Day, April 22, 2022, through Kids to Parks Day, May 21, 2022. All individual participants will be entered to win one of 50 park experience prize packages featuring an America the Beautiful pass, Secrets of the National Parks Book, Park Trust Water bottle, and other prizes – so spread the word and get your community involved!
Ready to get started? Here is everything you need:
Starting on Earth Day, April 22, 2022, invite YOUR peer organizations, towns, and parks and recreation departments to participate in the #MyParkOurFuture campaign on their social media channels. They can do this by posting a photo that features a public park, land, or water and 3 words that capture its importance to our future. The key to success for this campaign is for each organization to tag at least 3 other organizations to post their own photo and share their own 3-word #MyParkOurFuture story.
Step 1:
Post a photo of a local park, public land, or water that is important to your community to use in your social media post. This can be anything from a local park to a state park, riverway, or forest. Create a caption of 3 words that encapsulate what that park means to the future of our world. Be sure to tag the location of the park in your post.
Step 2:
Identify 3 fellow organizations or departments to challenge, and tag them in your post. Once you’ve tagged them, be sure to also tag the National Park Trust’s account as well!
Step 3:
After your 3 words, use the sentence below to ensure that the three organizations you tagged can join in on the fun and also participate in the #MyParkOurFuture campaign.
- We challenge @parksandrec, @stateparks, and @city to post a photo of one of their community parks and 3 words that represent why this park is important to the future! Community Members: You can join the fun too! Post your own photo of your favorite park, tag 3 friends, use the hashtag #MyParkOurFuture and tag @NationalParkTrust for a chance to win one of 50 park experience prize packages!
