El Mele

Hi! My name is El and I’m a 3rd year biomedical science and psychology student. I am particularly interested in the Blue Zones and how community, social interaction, and intergenerational relationships contribute to better mental health, therefore aiding in longevity. I spent my first cooperative education experience in Ikaria, Greece, one of the five Blue Zones in the world, speaking to older people about what they attribute their longevity to, and I hope to continue my research in the future.
