National Park Trust Honors Senator Angus S. King, Jr. with 24th Bruce F. Vento Public Service Award
On Tuesday, June 18, we were honored to present Senator Angus S. King, Jr. (I-ME) with our Bruce F. Vento Public Service Award in Washington, DC. This prestigious national award recognizes a public servant for their dedication to the environment and their exemplary service, skill, and innovation in protecting and preserving our country’s public lands and waters.
The National Park Trust acknowledged Senator King’s significant, lifetime contributions to conservation spanning five decades, from his early days as a conservation lobbyist in Maine through his 8 years as Governor and his 11 years as a U.S. Senator. Learn more about his advocacy for parks in our tribute video below.
Attendees at the event heard inspiring testimonials from students benefiting from our Buddy Bison School Program and members of one family who experienced the wonders of our public lands through our Military Family Program.
We debuted a new video at the event that features all our programs made possible by support from our donors.
