National Park Trust invites Home Base families to sign up for our Saturday, August 1st, paddling adventure on the Nashua River! Participants will meet Home Base, National Park Trust, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service staff at the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge – Bill Ashe Visitor Facility and Canoe Launch, located at 180 Hospital Rd, Devens, MA 01434, at 9:00 AM.
Applying for this event does not guarantee a spot; participants and groups who are accepted or placed on a waitlist will be notified by email by July 17th, 2026!
- Who: National Park Trust, Home Base, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
- What: Join us for a special day outdoors at Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge. This free program will feature a welcome and educational overview at the Bill Ashe Visitor Facility, a group lunch (provided), and a guided paddling excursion along the scenic Nashua River. Participants will learn about local wildlife, conservation efforts, and the importance of protecting public lands while connecting with fellow military families through a fun and meaningful outdoor experience. Whether you are new to paddling or an experienced adventurer, we hope you will join us for this unique opportunity to explore one of Massachusetts’ beautiful national wildlife refuges.
